You’ve started a business and you want to be found on the web. In this episode, we are going to cover the social media and profile places where you want to start listing your business online and start building your profile on the web.

Serious entrepreneurs know that the key to business success is having a strong online presence.

You want that to…but where do you start when it comes to building your profile on the web?

That is what we are diving into in this episode to make to help you get started with the all important online digital profile.

Social media

Social media can be one of your company’s most profitable marketing channels. It’s an excellent way to build awareness, connect with customers, and generate new leads.

You may not be active on all the social profiles straight away because you want to start getting that journey into place and work with the social profiles as you learn them, but you want to make sure that you’ve secured your social media real estate

By securing your social handles, you’re actually protecting your brand. By having these profiles, you are also able to share and post on these platforms through tools like MeetEdgar.

Google My Business

Make sure that you’ve got that account so people can find you on Google because it helps with search. Your Google My Business account also connects with your YouTube account and boosts your video reach as well.

Facebook

Facebook is a great one for engaging people through video, and chat, and tapping into that know, like and trust factor as they’re scrolling along, talking with their friends. It is a popular channel with reach and engagement.

Instagram

Instagram is a great one for being visual as it allows you to share product images, behind-the-scenes, or inspirational tips and tricks that will connect with your audience.

Instagram has also expanded to videos in a feature called “reels” which is a great way to show your products or yourself as an entrepreneur and business owner.

TikTok

TikTok is another great one to play on with short-form videos and grow your online presence and gain more views by creating creative videos.

YouTube

YouTube is one that I would be suggesting most to business owners. With YouTube, you can create a video channel and connect with your users in a totally different way. You can create video tutorials to back up your text-based content, visually show product descriptions, or give personal press releases to your viewers.

Pinterest

One that maybe you’re not thinking of is Pinterest. Pinterest is a great traffic generator, and it’s a great way to show your products using photos and idea pins.

An important thing to remember about views

When you are starting out in the world of social media, an important thing to remember is not to stress about your number of views. We want to get the views of the people that are going to engage with their product or service, and that doesn’t necessarily mean 100,000 views so we don’t need to stress.

Your own website

From a social media point of view, the other place you want to be found online is obviously through your own website. You want to be able to create your own content and optmise them through tools like Rank Math to make sure that you’re getting the right keywords and be found in search.

Industry directories

Industry directories or local Chamber of Commerce directories, bring with them trust and search power.

You want to make sure that your business is listed with them where possible so you are found in trusted directories.

These are just some of the places where you want to start with getting your business found online.

Now, get out there, get yourself listed in key web directories, secure your social profiles, and create your own website, so you’re well on the way to getting your business found online.
