In this behind-the-scenes video, I’m showing you exactly how I set up to record videos, using what’s around me, staying flexible, and making the most of the space I’ve got.

What’s Inside My Recording Setup
1. Scripting First
Before anything else, I start with my scripts. I don’t rely on a full teleprompter setup. Instead, I use my notes or tablet right in the shot as part of the content. It keeps things simple, authentic, and flowing.
2. Flexible Filming Tools
I use a basic tripod for my main camera, and my phone is perfect for short-form content. You don’t need loads of gear, just tools that suit your style and make creating feel easy.
3. Make the Room Work for You
This video was filmed in a hotel room during our retreat. We used the white walls, natural light, and even a plant to create a clean, consistent filming corner. You can also have a second recording spot with artwork behind for variety.
4. Outfit Options on Hand
I bring scarves, jackets, and layers to swap between videos. It keeps the content feeling fresh and gives me more mileage out of a single filming session.
5. Include Your Products and Tools
I like to include my content decks or books when they’re relevant to the video. It’s a subtle way to build brand awareness and keep my offers front of mind.
6. Lighting and Backgrounds Matter
Good lighting makes all the difference. I use studio lights where I can, and I choose neutral backdrops (like a white wall) so I can overlay logos or text in post-production.
Tips to Set Up Your Own Recording Space
- Use what you already have, phones, tablets, a plain wall, and natural light go a long way
- Choose a consistent, uncluttered background so your message stands out
- Bring a few outfit changes so you can batch record multiple videos
- Add subtle branding elements when it feels natural
- Focus on clarity, not perfection
