Anchor content is one of the smartest ways to simplify your marketing and amplify your message.
With one strong, long-form piece, you can build an entire content ecosystem from videos, blogs, newsletters, social posts, and even short-form reels. It keeps you focused, consistent, and aligned with your monthly themes. And best of all? Your future self will thank you for it.
In this video, I’m walking you through how I use anchor content every single month to save time, increase visibility, and build real momentum.
Why Anchor Content Works
Anchor content provides your marketing with a solid foundation. It becomes the reference point for everything else you create. It saves you from starting from scratch every time and helps you stay in flow with your themes, your audience, and your schedule.
How I Create Anchor Content
1. Start with a Video
I begin by filming a long-form video (like this one) based on a key theme or message I want to share. This is the heart of the content and the starting point for everything else.
2. Turn the Video into a Blog Post
Using the transcript or summary, I create a supporting blog post. The video is embedded, SEO is optimised, and I cross-link to other relevant resources on my site.
3. Convert the Audio into a Podcast
The audio from the video gets scheduled separately, never at the same time as the blog or video, so my audience sees value in each platform.
4. Clip Short-Form Videos
Using tools like Opus Clip, I trim the original video into short-form pieces for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook. These clips link back to the full video and help build reach.
5. Send a Themed Newsletter
I write a “love letter” style newsletter around the anchor content and share links to the blog, podcast, or video. The message stays consistent with the theme of the month.
6. Create Social Posts from the Content
From top tips to quotes and carousels, I turn the anchor piece into multiple posts using my Canva brand kit and a little help from AI. One idea becomes many.
7. Batch Record More Content
When I’m on a roll, I record short-form videos that expand on the anchor topic. This helps me stay consistent and gives my content calendar real momentum.
