Small Businesses of all types and industries are not as different as you might think with all small businesses working through the same five stages of business growth, and the challenges each represents.

According to a study by Harvard Business Review in the beginning it’s about simply ‘Existing’. Then about ‘Survival’ and then ‘Success’. After this it’s ‘Take off’ (or rapid sustained growth) and then ‘Maturity’.
Each of these stages requires planning. Planning is key. How do you know if you have a good plan? A plan should be relevant and workable and identify and exclude barriers and most importantly, clearly and simply identify the key activities which will deliver your desired outcomes.
