I have been working out of the office today and at the end of each meeting I have been checking email and messages, and madly trying to respond to it all and wondering why????
There was a time when being out of the office was email and message free and business still managed to run. You may have had a phone and people may have been able to call you if you were in a coverage zone. Today we are so contactable, reachable that maybe we are losing the focus of what out of the office time is all about. It is out of the office and out of contact time.
Imagine if we went to meetings and were able to focus on the meetings without the messages and emails how much more our brain would be allowed to focus on the now and what we can do; not what we need to do.
